 Scott

PASTOR SCOTT BROWN
Senior Pastor

Scott Brown has served as the Senior Pastor at Hanover Community Church for over 25 years. Having grown up in the Abbottstown area, he has served as a Christian School teacher and youth director in the York, PA and sold new Acuras, Toyotas and Mazdas in Chattanooga, TN before moving back to his home area in June of 1993. After this move, God directed him to Hanover Community Church to visit and ultimately lead the congregation.
Pastor Scott has a Bachelor’s of Science in Church Education from Tennessee Temple University. He later took an additional 37 credit hours from Tennessee Temple University in the area of Secondary Education with a minor in English.
Scott and his wife, Pamela, have two children: Stephen Brown and Ashley deSalis. They both live in the Hanover area and serve faithfully at Hanover Community Church. Pastor Scott loves to hunt, fish, and read, and he faithfully follows the Baltimore Ravens, Baltimore Orioles and Penn State teams.

Matt


PASTOR MATT MILLER
Assistant Pastor

Matt Miller has been at Hanover Community Church for over 15 years, and has served in the roles of Youth Pastor and Assistant Pastor. His primary responsibility is Youth Ministry and he also oversees the Children’s Ministry Leader. As Assistant Pastor, he helps with sermons, counseling, and leadership support.
Before coming to HCC, Matt served in youth ministry at another local church for many years. His vocational background also includes business and property management. To say that Matt is an avid outdoorsman and hunter is an understatement! He loves time in the out of doors with his Creator and also enjoys trips with his wife, Kim, to special places they both love.
Matt and Kim have lived in the area their entire lives and have 3 children and a son-in-law. Kim has always been a vital part of Matt’s ministry team.
Matt graduated from New Oxford High School and then joined the family business. He did not go to college until truly sensing God's call on his life to enter ministry when he was in his 30’s. He graduated from Lancaster Bible College in 2013 with Bachelor’s of Science in Christian Life and Ministry with a focus in Youth Ministry.

DANIELLE PORTER
Communications & Children’s Discipleship Ministry Leader

Danielle Porter grew up in York, PA and “transplanted” to Virginia after college. She became connected to Hanover Community Church through her husband, Ethan, and joined the staff in June of 2018. She has loved it every step of the way! Danielle serves the church by offering staff support and visual media communications and also oversees the Children’s Ministry from newborn through sixth grade.
Her work history includes Foster Care and Adoptions Case Worker for Children and Youth agencies in both Pennsylvania & Virginia, as well as Therapeutic Support Staff for children who have special needs. Danielle is a graduate of Liberty University with a Bachelor’s of Science in Family and Child Development.
Danielle & Ethan have been married for over 6 years and have two children. She loves to spend time with her family and friends and enjoys cooking, crocheting, and a good book.

CINDI WILMOT
Connections Ministry Leader

Cindi Wilmot began attending Hanover Community Church in 2013 and came on board as a staff member in 2018. Her role includes connecting people to one another through overseeing the calendar and events; recruiting and training volunteers; assisting with Fusion Youth; maintaining Sunday operations; and coordinating hospitality.
Cindi and her husband, Dan, moved to the Hanover area in the 1990’s after growing up in New York State, attending college in the mid-west, and then working in college ministry for several years. Dan and Cindi met while ministering at a camp in Western New York State and have since remained active in church ministry ranging from VBS, youth and young adults to worship and hospitality. Cindi has also worked in private practice doing part time Christian Counseling for the past 11 years.
The Wilmots have six children and two grandchildren and enjoy spending time with family and friends, hosting events, working on home projects, and razzing Pastor Scott about the Ravens and Orioles.
Cindi is a graduate of Ashland Theological Seminary with a Master of Arts in Pastor Psychology and Counseling, and also holds a Bachelor of Arts in Christian Education with a minor in Church Music from Taylor University.

 Dawn

DAWN KUMMER
Bookkeeper

Dawn Kummer began attending Hanover Community Church in March 2018, when she and her husband, Mike, moved here from Wisconsin. They became members of the church in November 2018. Dawn started as a volunteer assisting the bookkeeper in the fall of 2018 and took over as the volunteer bookkeeper in January 2019. She came on staff as a part-time bookkeeper in January 2020.
Dawn has worked in the banking industry for 18 years as a teller, in bookkeeping, running operations in bookkeeping, and as an Accounts Payable Manager. She was a part of her previous church’s Corporate Lead Team (church board) for 8 years. The Kummers have been deeply involved in Financial Peace University and currently lead the class at HCC.
Dawn & Mike have four children, three grandsons and one more on the way. They enjoy spending time with family and friends, exploring/traveling, working on home projects and flipping furniture.
